A major Nintendo Switch emulator, Ryujinx can now run the recently released Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster at 60FPS on PC.
Technically, the game launches today for Switch, but it will also run on PC at higher resolutions and faster frame rates as well.
This is actually above the performance achieved by Nintendo's own Switch emulator, with games running at 30FPS being all it can manage.
A Video Demonstration, Showed The Game Running On Ryujinx And How Much It's Performance Is Superior To The PC.
This isn't the first time a Switch game has run on PC at launch, either - we also got Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Wonder emulated ahead of schedule.
On top of that, the Switch version's 4K-ified remake may also provide a few hints about its support for Nintendo's next-gen console.
Overall, despite some design faults and unwarranted padding the Remake keeps enough of it’s predecessor’s heart intact that older fans will find something to love whilst new players can easily jump into it.
